Toor Dal/Arhar Dal / Split Pigeon Pea(Unpolished)
- Also known as split pigeon pea, toor dal is considered to have originated from India and later carried to various parts of Europe and Africa.
- Among all the forms of lentils, toor dal is the most widely used. The major cultivators of toor dal in India are the states of Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Madhya Pradesh.
- Unlike the Split Chickpeas (Channa Dal), Toor Dal is yellow-colored and is greenish-brown when it is unskinned.
